Power Generation

Small hydro producers in Sri Lanka, including biomass and dendro power producers, have generated 346 gWh in 2006 (280 gWh in 2005) representing 4% of the total generation in 2006 and 3% in 2005.

The total installed capacity of private small hydro power developers in 2006 is 102 mW. Our share in the small hydro power sector is 9.7% of total installed capacity and in terms of generation of energy, we have produced 11.6% of total energy generated by the small hydro producers in Sri Lanka.
