Vallibel Power Erathna PLC is Sri Lanka’s leading publicly listed renewable energy company, driving the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
Established in 2001 and listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange in 2006, we have earned a reputation for operational excellence and environmental responsibility in the renewable energy sector.
Our current portfolio includes both hydro and solar power projects, with a total installed capacity of 31.85 MW:

Collectively, these projects generate over 103 GWh of clean electricity annually, helping to offset more than 63,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions.

Kiriwaneliya Power Plant Wins Silver Award at Presidential Environment Awards
Vallibel Power Erathna PLC is pleased to announce that the Kiriwaneliya Mini Hydro Power Plant received the Silver Award under the Renewable Energy Project Category at the Presidential Environment Awards 2025, organized by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA).
This prestigious recognition reflects the plant’s strong commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable power generation. The Kiriwaneliya Power Plant has received this award continuously since 2013, demonstrating its long-standing contribution to environmentally responsible renewable energy development in Sri Lanka.
The Presidential Environment Awards recognize organizations that actively promote environmental sustainability and environmentally friendly business practices.
Vallibel Power Erathna PLC Wins ‘Best Integrated Report’ at CMA Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards
Vallibel Power Erathna PLC won the Best Integrated Report – Power/Electricity Sector award along with a Merit Award at the CMA Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards 2024, organized by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA).
The award was presented for the Company’s 2023/24 Annual Report, marking the consecutive year VPE has received this recognition for excellence in transparency, accountability, and integrated reporting.

Vallibel Power Erathna PLC received the Bronze Award under the Power and Energy Sector at the TAGS Awards 2024, organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).
This recognition highlights the Company’s strong focus on corporate governance, sustainability, and high-quality corporate reporting. VPE’s Annual Report has consistently been ranked among the top three reports in the Power and Energy Sector at the TAGS Awards since 2011.

VPE was honored to receive this prestigious award for two consecutive years.
First time VPE awarded Gold Award at SAFA Best Presented Annual Report Awards
The Annual Report of 2021/22 of Vallibel Power Erathna PLC was internationally recognized as the ‘Gold Winner’ award under the ‘Power and Energy Sector’ category at the coveted SAFA Best Presented Annual Report Awards, Integrated Reporting Awards & SAARC Anniversary Awards for Corporate Governance Disclosure 2022. The event was held at Hotel Raddision Blu, India on 22nd December 2023.
VPE was exceptionally honored to become the first time winner of this esteemed award which was presented by South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), a forum of professional accounting bodies in the SAARC region of eight nations; Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri-Lanka.

Silver Award at Presidential Environment Awards 2021-2022
Our Kiriwaneliya Power Plant was honored to receive the Silver Award under Renewable Energy Project Category at the Presidential Environment Award Ceremony for year 2021-2022 organized by Central Environmental Authority (CEA). The ceremony was held at BMICH on April 28th, 2023.
Kiriwaneliya Power Plant has been awarded with this prestigious award since 2013, a noteworthy recognition for its continuous effort and commitment towards sustainable development of the industry.
CEA organizes the Annual Presidential Environment Award with the objective of honoring industries, business organizations and individuals who have made an excellent contribution towards environmental conservation; who continue to build an environmentally friendly industry, business and service culture; and to encourage the society to engage more on environmentally sustainable activities.

Vallibel Power Erathna PLC was honoured to receive the Gold award under the ‘Power and Energy Sector’ category at the coveted TAGS Awards 2022, organized by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).
TAGS recognizes companies ranging from multinationals to conglomerates, as well as small and medium enterprises for promoting the core concepts of CA Sri Lanka which are transparency, accountability, governance and sustainability in both financial and non-financial reporting aspects.

Vallibel Power Erathna PLC has won ‘Best Integrated Report’ under the Energy Sector at CMA excellence in integrated reporting awards 2022 organized by Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA). The company also won a ‘Merit Award’ for its 2021/2022 Annual Report.
The integrated reports were evaluated using guidelines applicable in the International IR Framework issued in December 2013. CMA recognized not only the accounting and financial information, but also non-financial information provided in integrated Reports.
Bronze Award at Presidential Environment Awards 2019
The Kiriwaneliya Mini Hydro Power Project, yet again proved its excellence in contributing towards a pollutants free environment by receiving Bronze Award at the Presidential Environment Awards 2019 in the Renewable Energy Generation Project Category. The ceremony was organized by the Central Environment Authority together with the Ministry of Mahaweli Development & Environment on 29th October 2019 at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre.
