Vallibel Power Erathna PLC, organized inter site staff cricket tournament at Eheliyagoda Public Ground on 30th November 2013 representing six teams from employees of all mini hydro power projects established by the Company. This inaugural cricket match comprised Eleven Side League Cricket Tournament.
The match was organised with the intention of developing the spirit of the employees who are working at various locations of the country. It was an excellent event to mingle each other at one location avoiding their day today hectic work in the office. All employees forgetting their various levels at the office enjoyed at this game as a one family.
The tournament was a very competitive and the players had a chance to demonstrate their skills and team spirit. Some of the individual achievements during the tournament included as Best Batsman and Best Bowler who were named players of the tournament for consistent performances leading up to and during the final.
The tournament was featured by many senior management staff and both participated as well as supported their teams from the sidelines. The Executive Director/GM of the Company, Mr. L.D.Dickman and CEO, Mr. Russell De Zilva presented the winning team with their trophy and also congratulated all the teams for their efforts and sporting spirit.
