The Erathna power plant in Kuruwita, Ratnapura is the largest mini hydropower project owned by Vallibel Power Erathna PLC. Commissioned in 2004, this run-of-the-river facility harnesses the Kuru Ganga with a net head of 420m, using twin Pelton turbines from Voith Siemens (Germany).
